Desired Skills and Experience
· A BS in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering is required
· 5+ years of engineering experience
· PE License required
· Project Management experience desired
· Geotechnical lab experience highly desired
· QA/QC construction oversight experience
· Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work both within a team and independently.
Tasks and Responsibilities
· Provide construction monitoring/on-site engineering observation for geotechnical projects
· Perform site reconnaissance to observe existing conditions, assess site access for subsurface explorations, and identify important site features
· Conduct field investigations, including soil and groundwater sampling in accordance with applicable standards and other industry standard guidelines
· Conduct geotechnical engineering analyses
· Compile, reduce, analyze, manage, and report field, instrumentation, geological, and/or environmental data, using spreadsheets and other tools
· Use of various geotechnical and environmental instrumentation and equipment
· Support preparation of written reports, proposals, cost estimates, and other client deliverables
· Conduct geotechnical engineering evaluations and calculations including, but not limited to, design for retaining walls, shallow and deep foundations, slope stability, pavements and slabs-on-grade
· Perform seismic related geotechnical engineering analyses
