This role will facilitate the design, prototype, and manufacture of new design concepts, analyze existing product performance and introduce product improvements as they become evident. Provide engineering support for all phases of the production process including Operations, Manufacturing, Quality Control and Customer Service. Support is to include, but not limited to, the participation in Engineering/Operations meetings, the creation, implementation and release of Engineering Change orders, communication, and presentation of design concepts to pertinent associates. Design and implement test procedures to assure that products meet quality and performance standards. Key Responsibilities

The key responsibility of a Design Engineer is to work collaboratively with nearly all departments and teams to design, develop, and modify drawn and stamped metal components and their corresponding tooling, gauges and fixtures, and supporting parts for production machine maintenance and repair

Manage multiple complex projects at the same time

Ensure that all design projects are completed within budget and time

Work with customers to design and refine stamped and drawn components for manufacturability while meeting defined requirements

Design tooling and components with SolidWorks and AutoCAD software

Perform under ISO9001, AS9100, IATF16949 and/or ISO13485 manufacturing standardsRequirements:

Position Requirements:

Technical degree or equivalent engineering experience

3-5 years design engineering experience

Advanced theory of cutting and forming, ability to troubleshoot by reading a progressive strip, and knowledge of the theory of cutting and forming in the stamping and deep draw process. Knowledge of metalforming, drawing and stamping, tooling, and related manufacturing processes

Good troubleshooting skills

Ability to read and comprehend blueprints

U.S. Person - This position requires potential access to technology controlled under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR). The successful candidate must be a “U.S. Person” as defined under ITAR and EAR. In order to be a U.S. Person for ITAR and EAR purposes, you must (i) be a citizen or national of the United States; or (ii) be a lawful permanent resident of the United States; or (iii) a protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).

Physical Conditions:

Normal manufacturing working environment

Lift, push and/or pull 50 pounds

Stand at least 95% of scheduled shift

Routinely perform reaching, twisting, bending, and grasping to move and set tools, equipment, and materials

Some exposure to noise, dirt, chemicals, and temperature variations (while using OSHA relevant PPE).
