NiS is seeking a Toponymist Farsi Specialist to join our growing team. As a Toponymist Farsi Specialist, you will be responsible for having a unique knowledge of geography, cartography, and a working knowledge of Geographic Information Systems. The candidate must possess the ability to follow established geospatial data production processes for content analysis, validation, cleansing, collection and reporting. Analyze and validate data content and assemble new content from various sources, including databases, files/spreadsheets, and websites. Adhere to stringent quality control guidelines. Selected applicant will be subject to a background investigation.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Geography, GIS or equivalent military training and experience (4 years of experience in lieu of degree).

Relevant experience in the following: Geospatial Analysis, Intelligence Community, geospatial data formats, ESRI ArcGIS10 and personal Geodatabases, intelligence fusion analysis and NGA data products and standards

Preferred Additional Skills

Working knowledge of other geospatial software tools (e.g., ArcSDE, Stereo Analyst, SOCET Set, MS Office Suite, etc.)

Proficient oral and written communication skills

Physical Requirements

Regularly required to sit for extended periods up to 80% of the time; frequently required to move about to access file cabinets and use office equipment such as PC, copier, fax, telephone, cell phone, etc.

Occasionally required to reach overhead, bend, and lift objects of up to 10 lbs.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include use of computer monitor screens up to 80% of time
