Position Summary

The Ohio Means Jobs Columbus Franklin County program at Columbus Urban League is part of a consortium that provides comprehensive workforce services to adults and dislocated workers. This position verifies eligibility for program services, provides case management, conducts assessments and interviews, as well as facilitates customer access. Provides career guidance and assistance to customers by removing barriers to service.

Duties & Responsibilities

Provides case management and career guidance with a focus on helping customers set employment goals and develop employment plans that leads to self-sufficiency.

Conducts a complete need and skills assessments utilizing a variety of tools and techniques including computer-based assessments, interest inventories, and one-on-one interviews.

Coordinates access to training, education, barrier-removal services, and employment services for customers

Verifies eligibility for program services.

Monitors customers' progress during participation in appropriate activities.

Provides follow-up services to collect documentation that verifies employment and/or licensure (when applicable); provide services and resources that support job retention and barrier reduction.

Maintains physical case files, in an audit-ready state, by ensuring case record documentation is current, accurate, thorough, and compliant with the law, regulations, and established policies and procedures.

Maintains accurate and up-to-date digital case files in database(s) systems.

Job Requirements Education and Experience:

Related bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college, or equivalent work experience.

One to three years of experience in workforce development or related programs.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Demonstrated customer service skills.

Familiarity with the communities being served, with knowledge and understanding of local needs and resources.

Demonstrated ability to adapt and learn new systems and processes.

Demonstrate behaviors reflecting company's core values: equity and justice, high performance, innovation, integrity, and empowerment.

Professional business attire and appearance required.

Bilingual preferred, but not required.
