Job Description
The Chemist Assistant would be responsible for fulfillment of powder requests to support production, while supporting modernization efforts both from engineering and operations.
Responsibilities:
Mixing and synthesizing reactive materials.
Processing of reactive materials.
Handling and transporting reactive materials.
Modernization and process improvement of Reactive Materials department.
Working closely with and supporting efforts of Engineering.
Maintenance of lab environment: responsibility to keep load building.
Mentoring new reactive material employees.
Production support upon request due to the needs of business.
Physical activity may include lifting up to 80lbs.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
1-2 years’ experience preferred
Understanding safety and standard operating procedures.
Conscientious temperament due to the nature of the position due to reactive materials.
Attention to detail regarding safety
Works well collaboratively with a small team within small workspace.
Decision making skills
Effective verbal and listening communication skills
Computer skills including the ability to utilize spreadsheet and word-processing programs at a proficient level.
Must be able to read, write, and speak English language and be understood.
Demonstrate sound work ethics
Time management skills
Understanding of basic chemistry
Organizational and communication skills.
Ability to interact diplomatically with people both in person, in email or on the telephone.
Analytical and problem solving skills
Location:
The position will mainly be report to our facility located in Byram Township, NJ.
Shift:
Monday- Thursday 10 Hour Shift Day Shift: 7:00am- 5:30pm
