The SAP Business Project Management Lead will be a key player in Verano’s journey to implement and embed SAP and enable new ways of working. This position is instrumental in implementing and managing enterprise systems to facilitate the profitable growth of the company. The role will support the development and implementation of SAP across all areas of the business. Note that this is not a technical role; the Lead manages a team of Business Process Leads partnering with Verano IT, so we are looking for someone who is a strong project manager with significant experience of responsibility for non-technical deliverables.

You will need to exhibit patience, empathy, and flexibility so that you can make our users’ jobs easier, better, and faster. Success will require you to exhibit an in-depth knowledge of specialized business needs and extensive experience in managing the integration of SAP processes and cross-functional teams. This knowledge must translate into the ability to clearly communicate to the users how to properly leverage the solutions. This is an end-to-end role, in that it has responsibility for portfolio project planning and execution, prioritization and resolution of user support tickets and driving the new continuous improvement program. This role will report directly to the CFO.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Project Management - Plan and deliver all projects relating to our SAP implementation program across business functions including Finance, Retail, Operations, Supply Chain, Sales, and Marketing

Planning

Plan the overall program plans in accordance with business requirements and with the help of experts.

Plan multiple projects by utilizing sound project management methodology that includes identifying and managing overall project dependencies; identifying project risks and critical paths; developing mitigation plan with project team and key stakeholders

Methods & Tools

Lead the setup and management of the project management tools using Monday boards to align on the status of project and task delivery

Establish other measurement tools as necessary in support of critical deliverables including data cleansing and migration, testing and training

Track and manage risks, actions, issues and decisions through to completion

Be the Verano expert on methods and tools and drive common adherence to agreed ways of working

Escalate roadblocks, risks, and issues on a timely basis and secure required support to resolve

Governance

Continuously keep the project sponsors, key stakeholders, and project team informed as to project’s purpose, background, scope, requirements, and critical issues.

Facilitate periodic project governance and review meetings as determined required in alignment with the SAP Business and IT VP’s

Prepare all material and facilitate program governance meetings including Steering Committee and milestone based toll gates

Business as Usual

Support team led issue and enhancement review meetings and resolve roadblocks or escalations

Ensure user issues are being addressed with appropriate solutions and in a timely manner

Drive root cause analysis of issues looking for themes and opportunities for continuous improvement

Establish periodic reporting on achievement of issue resolution and enhancements to share with the wider business demonstrating the value of the Systems team

Establish methods for user and stakeholder feedback to continue to improve the ways of working

Team Leadership – Lead the newly formed SAP Systems team whose Business Process Leads act as the liaison between Verano IT and the business functions, to deliver SAP projects, user support and continuous improvement (enhancements).

Direct project team resources on priorities and upcoming deliverables

Coach, mentor, and train staff on business analysis and project management methodology

Set annual performance goals and measures and hold periodic performance evaluation sessions with each team member

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, management information systems, business, finance, or in a related field.

10+ years of experience implementing and managing SAP solutions.

2+ years of people management experience.

Experience with S4 HANA

Solid knowledge of financial business processes and their integration with SAP systems.

In-depth knowledge of the latest advancements in SAP applications.

Prefer experience working for mid to large enterprises.

Demonstrated experience in managing projects and teams.

Experience in Materials Management (MM) and Production Planning (PP), Sales & Distribution (SD) and/or Plant Maintenance (PM) is desirable.

Experience with 3rd party financial systems such as travel and expense management, month-end close automation, SEC reporting and FP&A is desirable.

Ability to think strategically, execute tactically, and collaborate across many teams, levels, and situations.

Pronounced bias to action and a sense of urgency; able to quickly form, communicate and defend a point of view. Demonstrated ability to think-on-the-feet and make quick decisions.

Resourceful and ability to demonstrate accomplishments using small teams.

Estimated 20% US travel depending on project statuses, situations, and timing.
