About the Role:

As a Senior Survey Researcher supporting our federal government client, you will be at the forefront of the National Household Survey on Disaster Preparedness. Under the guidance of the Program Manager and Task Lead, you will oversee various tasks essential to the success of our emergency preparedness and resilience efforts. Your role will involve conducting surveys, administering targeted assessments, facilitating focus groups, and carrying out cognitive testing to evaluate the effectiveness of outreach efforts and community responses during real-world events. Additionally, you will play a pivotal role in disseminating key findings from surveys and assessments through strategic outreach communications. With a focus on meticulous data collection, analysis, and reporting, you will contribute to enhancing disaster preparedness and response capabilities nationwide

Key Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

Administer targeted surveys to evaluate the effectiveness of outreach messaging, training, exercises, and disaster survivor experiences during real events

Conduct focus group sessions and cognitive testing to assess the impact of outreach messaging, training, exercises, and disaster survivor experiences during real events

Assist the government in disseminating findings from the National Household Survey on Disaster Preparedness through outreach communications

Develop budgets, establish research protocols, execute research activities, analyze data, and compile findings

Develop survey protocols outlining objectives, target population, study design, sampling plan, data collection plan, analysis plan, and survey instrument

Manage data collection processes, including cleaning, weighting, and analysis

Prepare data workbooks, analysis syntax, and methodology reports for data interpretation and dissemination of key findings

Design survey instruments and sampling methodologies to capture comprehensive and statistically valid data for the National Household Survey

Oversee the deployment of surveys, including coordinating data collection

Analyze survey data using advanced statistical methods to identify trends, insights, and recommendations

Provide expert guidance and recommendations to program leadership on survey research best practices

Location:

You will work as part of a dynamic team remotely from within the United States.

Required Experience/Skills:

Ph.D. from an accredited college or university

10+ years of experience in survey research and analysis

Previous experience with emergency management and public safety stakeholder engagement

Receptive to all forms of feedback from clients and colleagues, and proactive to make changes

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality assurance

Skilled in problem solving with a flexible approach towards stakeholders

Demonstrates an unflappable attitude even when faced with changes or adversity

Willingness to travel periodically for up to two (2) weeks or longer if needed

US citizenship and the ability to pass public trust clearance or suitability

Preferred Experience/Skills:

Demonstrated expertise in survey design, sampling techniques, data analysis, and presentation of findings

Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with proficiency in statistical software
