Job Title: Cisco Umbrella DNS Engineer

Job Description: The Cisco Umbrella DNS Engineer is a critical role in ensuring the security and performance of the organization's network by managing and optimizing the Cisco Umbrella DNS service. Engineer responsible for configuring, monitoring, troubleshooting, and enhancing the DNS infrastructure to protect against threats and ensure seamless network connectivity.

Key Responsibilities:-

Cisco Umbrella Implementation: Deploy and configure Cisco Umbrella DNS security services to protect the organization's network infrastructure.

DNS Infrastructure Management: Manage and maintain the organization's DNS infrastructure, including servers, records, and zones.

Security Monitoring: Continuously monitor DNS traffic for signs of malicious activity, including malware, phishing, and other threats.

Incident Response: Respond promptly to security incidents related to DNS, investigate root causes, and implement remediation measures.

Policy Management: Develop and enforce DNS security policies to block or allow specific types of traffic based on security requirements.

Performance Optimization: Optimize DNS resolution processes to ensure fast and reliable network access for end-users.

Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve DNS-related issues, including DNS resolution failures and performance bottlenecks.

Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of DNS configurations, policies, and incident response procedures.

Collaboration: Work closely with network administrators, security teams, and other IT professionals to align DNS security measures with overall network security strategies.

Stay Informed: Keep up-to-date with the latest security threats, vulnerabilities, and best practices in DNS security.

Qualifications:

Cisco Umbrella certification or relevant Cisco certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP).

Strong understanding of DNS protocols, DNSSEC, and DNS security.

Experience with DNS server administration (e.g., BIND, Microsoft DNS).

Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and best practices.

Proficiency in network monitoring and security tools.

Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience in a similar role, preferably with Cisco Umbrella.

Knowledge of cloud-based DNS security solutions.

Familiarity with scripting and automation for DNS management.
