PURCHASE ORDER SYSTEM SPEC

General Summary:

The Purchase Order System Specialist supports the Merchandising organization, managing tasks relating to style creation and purchase order processing.

Reports to: Buyer/Sr. Buyer

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Operate as a liaison between internal buying teams and external vendor partners, handling the execution and communication of purchase order creation and maintenance.

• Owns purchase order processing and receiving issues through research and partnership with cross-functional teams (Stores, Shoephoria, Distribution Center, Traffic, Planning, Vendors, IT, and Buying) for multiple product categories.

• Manages thorough communication and record keeping through the purchase order lifecycle.

• Download and validate UPC codes; systemically link UPC to DSW style.

• Identify and recommend solutions for process improvement opportunities.

• Highly collaborative self-starter with excellent verbal and written communication.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Teams, and Sharepoint.

• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

• Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, prioritization, and multi-tasking skills.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced and evolving environment, effectively balancing needs of the business and large teams.

• Basic knowledge of retail metrics and MP&A lifecycle process.

• Preferred knowledge of EDI and UPC codes.

• Demonstrates curiosity and a passion for the retail landscape.
