Account Manager
Department: HIF
Job Summary
Assists Executive Director in day-to-day administration of the current 9 Health Insurance Funds and one County Insurance Commission Health program
Principal Responsibilities
Executive Committee Meetings
Attend all Meetings
Along with Executive Director, present report
Answer Committee needs
Record Take-away and work with appropriate team members to carry out requests
With the assistance of AAM, maintain meeting flow is in accordance with Roberts Rules
Budget Process – Assist the Executive Director with tasks associated with Budget Process
Resource for Accounting
Relay information to accounting, such as new members, terminations, financial changes, professional fee updates, etc.
Request/Provide necessary reports and information to/from accounting
Work with Fund Treasurers and Accounting on accounts receivables and payables
Rates and Rate Renewal
Manage and oversee annual January and July rate renewal projects
Assure deadlines are met by all parties associated with rate renewal upload process
Maintain rate renewal project tracking sheet and report key milestones and/or challenges to leadership
Work with Benefits Administrator to upload and audit rate file
Notify and work closely with Systems Analyst when budget is adopted to produce rates to obtain required premium
Troubleshoot rate errors/inconsistencies
Ensure accuracy of rates and send to enrollment system provider
Work with Systems Analyst in auditing rates
Notify team of status of the process throughout
RFPs in coordination with the Qualifying Purchasing Agent (QPA)
Determine desired scope of services for Fund Professionals
Develop and maintain timeline
Ensure response compliance
Present to Contracts and Executive Committee
Maintain log for Fund Professional contracts
Brokers in the North Jersey and Bergen Funds to be included in log
Collect, review and file required documents
Wellness Grant Process
Work with Wellness Committee to determine annual budget
Develop and maintain guidelines and approved expenses
Develop a wellness budget according to members requests and present to Wellness Committee
Respond to grant request, changes, approved wellness expenses
Assist brokers in grant program and communication
Reorganization
Write required resolutions, Risk Management Plan and Cash Management plan
Step in as Chair to run meeting and facilitate voting process
Manage Rates
Provide rates to brokers and Operations Manager when needed throughout the year
Correct rate errors
Respond to legislative changes
Complete special tasks when requested
Be a resource for internal audits and state exams; provide documentation and review for accuracy
Coordinate OPRA requests within the statute
Gather information for the Executive Director’s Office to respond to all requests of the State
Mentor, delegate and oversee work of AAM
Work professionally to support positive long-term relationships with vendors, commissioners, regulators with the interest of achieving long term stability for the HIFs.
Perform other duties as delegated by the public sector practice leader.
Perform such other duties specified by the Executive Director and Fund Commissioners-Executive Committee.
Assist Executive Director in oversight and guidance of the negotiation and preparation of Fund Professional contracts
Requirements
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products; Word, Excel and PowerPoint required.
Self-starter, flexible and able to multi-task with minimal supervision.
Strong problem solving, interpersonal, analytical, verbal and written communication skills.
Knowledge of Document Management System (WorkSmart) preferred.
Knowledge of Agency Management Systems (Sagitta) preferred.
Ability to provide effective on-the-job training and to work flexible hours.
Ability to develop and manage key relationships at all levels within the Conner Strong organization along with outside Clients and Carriers.
Ability to work in an ever-changing high pressure organization / environment.
Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without Company sponsorship.
Working Conditions
Office environment with moderate noise level; able to work flexible hours and travel to other Conner Strong offices and Client work sites as needed.
