SUMMARY: Management Business Solutions is seeking a Medical Laboratory Tech / Scientist for its client in Columbus or Dresden, OH. The person will be responsible for performing a variety of complex laboratory tests and analyses to assist in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Conduct a wide range of laboratory tests on patient samples, including blood, urine, and tissue specimens, using automated and manual techniques.

• Perform routine and specialized procedures such as hematology, microbiology, clinical chemistry, immunology, and molecular diagnostics.

• Ensure proper specimen collection, handling, and storage procedures to maintain sample integrity and accuracy of test results.

• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and instrumentation, troubleshooting and performing routine maintenance as necessary.

• Analyze and interpret laboratory data, documenting and reporting results accurately and timely.

• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to discuss test results, provide technical expertise, and contribute to patient care decisions.

• Adhere to laboratory safety protocols and quality control measures to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and accreditation requirements.

• Participate in ongoing training and professional development activities to stay current with advances in laboratory science and technology.

• Assist in the development and validation of new laboratory procedures and protocols.

• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and participate in laboratory quality assurance programs.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or related field from an accredited institution.

• Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or Medical Technologist (MT).

• 2+ years of relevant laboratory experience in a clinical or hospital setting preferred.

• Strong knowledge of laboratory techniques, procedures, and instrumentation.

• Proficiency in performing complex laboratory tests and analyses with accuracy and precision.

• Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.

• Flexibility to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.
