Swanton Welding Company is seeking a Welder that is proactive, energetic, and a team player that thrives in a manufacturing environment. The position is based out of the Griffin, GA location and the hours are Monday - Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Welder ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Welder's responsibilities include, but may not be limited to,

Understand the safety features of the machines and tooling to ensure they are operating without compromise to safety systems.

Follows safety protocol, including wearing heat resistant gloves, flame resistant (FR) clothing, protective masks, and safety toed footwear.

Plans details of work order procedures; gathers required tools and materials based on instructions and specifications provided for the job.

Assesses equipment, structures, materials, and job specifications for appropriate welding positions and methods.

Ability to perform MIG welding activities to steel components

Maintain welding fixtures and tooling in a suitable working order

Visually inspect weld quality and use other quality inspection equipment to confirm compliance to part specifications.

Maintains, organizes, and cleans equipment and work area

Performs other duties as assigned

Welder QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

High school diploma or equivalent

Willingness to test and pass welder qualification test

Thorough understanding of tools used in welding including designs, uses, maintenance and repair.

Welding experience in a manufacturing environment

Knowledge based and working background in MIG welding of carbon and stainless steel products

Must be able to complete a manual welding test. Welds are judged on functionality and esthetics

Must be able to perform accurate mathematical calculations (add, subtract, multiply and divide)

Ability to work with fractions and decimals

A work history of compliance to safety, quality, and productivity standards

A work history that supports a good to excellent attendance record

Strong mechanical abilities

Fast learner and able to adapt in a fast-paced environment

Detail oriented approach to daily work activities

Able to work well in a team-oriented work environment

Positive attitude and willingness to learn

Welder PREFERRED SKILLS

At least 2 years' welding experience and able to perform MIG welding.

Ability to read, interpret and understand Work Orders.

Walking, Standing, Sitting Kneeling, Stooping (Frequently)

Lifting, Carrying up to 50 pounds (Occasionally)

Temperatures (Occasionally)
