Maintenance Technician responsibilities include:
Assisting Maintenance Manager in all aspects of the maintenance department.
Support maintenance procedures and ensuring implementation
To keep Maintenance Manager informed of all the activities and incidences in the Maintenance Department.
Carrying out inspections of the facilities to identify and resolve issues
Checking electrical and systems of buildings to ensure functionality
Performing general maintenance duties including groundskeeping, electrical, plumbing, HVAC problem solving.
Job brief
Bear Country, Inc./Jellystone Park and Resort-Caledonia is looking for a reliable Maintenance Technician to report to the Maintenance Manager and help keep the park and resort in optimum shape and condition.
The person in this position will ideally have some experience in one or more of the following skills: plumbing, electrical systems, carpentry, HVAC, small engines, mechanical, pool maintenance or other crafts. They will be well-versed in maintenance processes, problem solving, and health and safety regulations. This position will demand someone who can think on their feet while keeping a schedule. A knowledge of small engines is a plus including for golf carts and grass cutting equipment.
The goal is to ensure the company grounds and facilities are well-cared for and adequate to support the company’s business operations including grounds clean-up and garbage removal; preventive maintenance for buildings, cabins, recreation areas, and general grounds; service calls, including guest service calls, to repair non-functioning equipment; mowing, trimming grass; cleaning out fire pits after guests leave.
Responsibilities
Help the Maintenance Manager develop maintenance procedures and ensure implementation
Monitor and administer Limble workload management system (delegating work orders electronically to designted staff/department)
Carry out inspections of the buildings and cabins to identify and resolve issues
Check electrical and hydraulic systems of buildings to ensure functionality
Plan and oversee all repair and installation activities
Monitor completion of workload and staff (grounds crew, maintenance technicians, etc.). Keep staff motivated and positive.
Monitor equipment inventory and inform Manager when parts are needed.
Monitor expenses and help Maintenance Manager control budget
Manage relationships with contractors and service providers
Keep maintenance logs and report on daily activities
Ensure health and safety policies are complied with
Requirements
Proven experience in supervisory role in planning maintenance operations
Solid understanding of technical aspects of plumbing, carpentry, electrical systems etc.
Working knowledge of facilities machines and equipment
Ability to keep track of and report on activity
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to positively motivate and communicate with staff. Excellent customer service skills to engage guests and help with issues.
Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities
High school diploma or equivalent; Degree from a vocational school or BSc/BA in business administration or facility management will be an advantage; certification for electrical, plumbing, HVAC, etc…not required but a plus. Experience and/or certification in repairing small engines a plus.
