Objectives of the Position

As part of BASF’s Data & AI Powerhouse, we as Data Transparency team provide an enterprise-wide Data Catalog solution as single-point of truth to share knowledge about data and to find and access relevant documented data in an efficient, convenient, and compliant way. Our goal is to accelerate business decisions and processes by enabling data citizens to connect data with insights.

As part of an agile team, you will support our internal users by e.g., handling tickets, answering questions, resolving incidents, and integrating metadata using standard connectors.

Main Tasks

As part of an agile DevOps team, you contribute to bring transparency into BASF’s Data Landscape via the BASF Data Catalog.

You contribute to the improvement of continuity and quality of support and incident processes.

You support our internal users using multiple communication channels including chat, email and phone and are responsible for our shared mailbox.

You create tickets, resolve incidents, and raise issues with the Data Catalog’s 3rd party vendor.

You are responsible for documenting bug reports and monitoring performance.

Further, you integrate metadata from different data sources into the Data Catalog using standard 3rd party connectors and monitor the integration jobs.

Requirements

Education

A bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or similar

Work Experience

Minimum 2 years work experience

Technical & Professional Knowledge (Mandatory)

You have analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritise and diagnose technical issues.

You have Hands-on experience working in cloud environments using IAAS and PAAS components, preferably on Microsoft Azure.

You understand security topics, such as multi-factor authentication, encryption, certificates, proxy and firewall rule requests, protection of sensitive data e.g., passwords.

You have high language proficiency in English and the ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing.

You have a strong interest in technical innovation and continuous system optimisation.

You are eager to learn and have a proactive working approach, good self-organising and team working skills in an agile and remote environment

Technical & Professional Knowledge (Additional plus/Nice to have)

Hands-on experience with Incident Management tools (e.g., ServiceNow) is beneficial.
