Job Description of SSHO
An immediate need for an experienced Site Safety Health Officer (SSHO) specializing in construction in Berlin Center, OH. This is a two week assignment. The SSHO is preferred to have completed the 40-Hour EM 385-1-1 training and have a minimum of 5 years of construction safety experience. It is preferred that the candidate is credentialed (e.g. – BS, MS, OSHA 30, OSHA 510, OSHA 500, ASP, GSP, CSP, CHST, STSC, etc.).
The SSHO will work directly for the General Contractor. Duties will include but are not limited to:
· Oversee the Environmental, Health and Safety compliance for the projects
· Conduct documented daily EHS inspections
· Deliver site specific project EHS orientations
· Assist with coordinating crane activities
· Participate in the Daily Hazard Analysis process
· Investigate incidents to determine root cause and develop corrective and preventative actions
· Work closely with the project leadership teams to assist with facilitating and injury free workplace
· Collect and analyze leading and lagging indicators to determine trends and put actions into place to address concerns
· Review subcontractor Accident Prevention Plans (APP) and assist with plan development when needed
· Ensure subcontractors are adhering to their APP
· Make certain subcontractor craft workers are appropriately trained for their required tasks
· Deliver various EHS training modules
Minimum Requirements
5+ years of experience in safety specializing in construction
Computer knowledge and efficiency, including but not limited to, Microsoft Office products
OSHA 30 Construction
Education/Certification
BS/MS in a related field
OSHA 500/510
ASP/GSP/CSP/CHST/STSC
