Salary:

The Human Resource Generalist will run the daily Human Resource (HR) functions including hiring and interviewing staff, onboarding, benefits and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices.

RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE

Develops human resource strategies, partners with leadership, and manages all human resource activities to include recruitment, hiring, onboarding, personnel policies and procedures, benefits, compensation practices, employee engagement, training and development, disputes and disciplinary matters, performance and talent management, and compliance with federal, state and local laws.

Partners with the leadership team to understand and execute the organization’s human resource and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs and succession planning.

Manages the talent acquisition process. Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions.

Creates learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees.

Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.

Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.

Analyzes trends in compensation and benefits; researches and proposes competitive base and incentive pay programs to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent.

Conducts annual engagement survey and make recommendations to leadership based on results.

Demonstrates leadership consistent with the core values of the Foundation and serves as a steward of the Foundation’s culture, supporting team growth and cohesion.

Partners with and advises leadership team regarding current or anticipated employee issues; provide guidance as needed.

Develops and manages human resource budget.

Supervises front desk receptionist.

Serves in support of the OCF Board Governance Committee’s CEO review, as needed.

Manages onboarding of new employees for a welcoming introduction to the organization.

Establishes an annual HR plan, schedule and communications for reviews, employee recognition programs, merit increases, benefit plan roll-out, and other key HR items for leadership team and staff.

WHAT YOU NEED TO HAVE

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field.

3+ years human resource experience.

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.

Ability to build relationships, and partner with colleagues and external stakeholders.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Ability to adapt to changes and prioritize tasks, delegating them when appropriate.

Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.

Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.

Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS and talent management systems.

Work Location

The primary work location is at 1120 S. 101st Street in Omaha, Nebraska. This role is expected to work in the office, with the flexibility for occasional work from home.
