SummaryThe Landscape Superintendent for TIFEC will manage all landscape, grounds, and related projects from start to finish.

Job Description

Essential Functions

Help deliver the overall property maintenance and repairs for projects from start to finish, ensuring proper completion of various tasks related to the project.

Accurately identify pests, weeds, and plant diseases and make correct pesticide applications to eliminate these issues.

Develop yearly plan for fertilizer, pesticide, and general improvements for the property.

Use skillful handwork with various tools.

Operate and train staff on the operation and safety of all landscape-related equipment.

Perform basic repairs and maintenance as needed to equipment, fences and buildings.

Perform manual labor including digging, lifting, climbing, carrying and installing.

Finish work in accordance with direction from leader.

Ensure that all elements of the assigned project tasks are completed in a timely and professional manner.

Be responsible for assisting in the repair, maintenance and inspection of various pieces of property.

Assist with other various tasks and projects, as needed.

Always represent TIFEC in a professional manner.

Perform other related tasks as assigned.

Troubleshoot and repair irrigation system.

Skills & Experience

B.A. in landscape management, turfgrass management, horticulture, or related field preferred.

Prior experience in a management role preferred, but not required.

Demonstrated ability to listen and follow instructions, as well as willingness to continue to learn.

Desire to advance and learn the trade.

Experience with light to heavy manual labor in the repair, construction and maintenance of various related tasks.

Ability to communicate in Spanish in a professional working capacity.

Ability to manage a team of associates to produce the highest quality product possible.

Ability to recognize problems and areas of improvement, prioritize, and accomplish list items to completion.

Time management, planning, and organization skills are a must.

Experience in pond management preferred.

2-Wire irrigation troubleshooting, and repair experience preferred.

Experience in general irrigation troubleshooting and repair required.

Medium to heavy equipment operation experience preferred.

Occasional exposure to fumes or airborne particles, as well as hazardous chemicals.

Will be working near moving mechanical parts.

Ability to work non-traditional hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays, as necessary.
