An international school in Al Khobar, KSA is seeking a dedicated and experienced Student Counselor to join our team. As a Student Counselor, you will play a vital role in supporting the academic, emotional, and social development of our diverse student population. The ideal candidate should possess excellent communication skills, cultural sensitivity, and a deep understanding of the unique challenges faced by international students. Proficiency in English is a must.

Responsibilities:

1. Provide Guidance and Counseling: Offer individual and group counseling sessions to students, addressing their academic, personal, and social needs.

2. Emotional and Behavioral Support: Assess and address student emotional and behavioral concerns, working collaboratively with students, parents, and teachers to develop appropriate strategies and interventions.

3. Academic Support: Collaborate with teachers and administrators to identify and support students who may be experiencing academic difficulties. Develop and implement intervention plans to enhance students' academic performance.

4. Cross-Cultural Support: Recognize and address the unique needs of international students, supporting their cultural adjustment and offering guidance on adapting to a new educational system and environment.

5. Crisis Intervention: Provide immediate support and intervention during crisis situations, such as student conflicts, mental health emergencies, or traumatic events.

6. Collaborative Approach: Work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and other support staff to ensure a holistic and integrated approach to student well-being. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and provide input for student support plans.

7. Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate and confidential student records, including counseling notes, assessment results, and progress reports. Ensure compliance with relevant legal and ethical guidelines.

8. Professional Development: Stay updated with current research, best practices, and trends in counseling and education. Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance counseling skills and cultural competence.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in psychology, or a related field.

2. Saudi Nationality.

3. Proven experience working as a counselor in an educational setting, preferably in an international school.

4. Excellent command of the English language, both written and verbal.

5. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish rapport and build trusting relationships with students, parents, and staff.

6. Knowledge of multicultural issues and cross-cultural counseling techniques.

7. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.

8. Effective problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.

9. Adaptable and flexible, with the ability to work in a fast-paced and diverse environment.
