Business Analysis Experience in CITY OF HOPE and KAISER PERMANENTE

CITY OF HOPE:

When I joined City of hope, Client did not have QA team. I took this as a challenge to build QA team from scratch. My main task were
1) Scanning resumes of different candidates for QA Team
2) Interviewing and hiring QA team members within QA Team.
3) Evaluate different Testing tool and Performance testing tools
4) Decision to buy best testing tool and Performance testing tool.
5) Implementation of Quality Center 9.2 (Testing tool)
6) Identify Redundancy within QA and within group of CIS.
7) Understanding Requirements and Workflows
8) Prepare Requirement Matrix and make central repository to test
9) Development of Test Strategy and Test Plan
10) Development of Test cases for all ECLIPSYS modules

Client had no BRDs (Business Requirements Documents), SRD (System Requirements Documents), SRS (System Requirement Specification), SRDs (System Requirement Documents) or any workflows Diagrams to build test cases in May 2008.

Process teams who are supposed to designed workflow diagram were behind schedule.
FYI…Process team designed workflows were specific to business only, but were not specific to ECLIPSYS (EMR) related.

I took this challenge by showing EXTRA MILE ATTITUDE and trained my staff to address this issue because I did not wanted development of test cases schedule to go behind because of this issue. We were highly depending on the process team. QA team did not get much help from Process team because of number of issue: Lack of resources and Transition between team members in Process team.

I motivated QA team members to document all workflows for testing purpose which is used only for testing team and verified by each SME (Subject matter Expert).

I met with each SME (Subject Matter Expert) and Business Analysts to understand the requirements and workflows which were specific to City of Hope and also documented them with their approval.

Identify and Review of requirements for Phase-1, Phase-2 and Phase-3.

I had to train and mentor one of my team members who were not from healthcare. And I also made sure that he is productive and he understood the workflows and wrote test cases.

Handled HL7 introduction training to QA team members.

Cross trained all QA team members in ECLIPSYS module.

Responsible for Testing ECLIPSYS module and HL7 testing on message and segment level.
