Guidance, Navigation & Controls Engineer
San Diego, CA
This is an 12 month Contract Opportunity
Candidate will perform various Guidance, Navigation & Control (GNC) tasks for the Global Hawk Unmanned Air Vehicle (UAV) Program. These activities include non-linear 6DOF Simulation analysis and supporting GNC flight testing at Edward Air Force Base (EAFB). GNC flight test support consists of test planning, pre-flight predictions, real time support, post-flight analysis, and anomaly resolution. He/she will document analysis and make presentations to management and the customer, as required.
Basic Qualifications: Candidate must have excellent communication, analysis and problem solving skills and be able to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment. Candidate will be skilled in the area of flight sciences, control law development, control system analysis, and airplane/UAV GNC flight test.
BS in Aerospace Engineering with 9 plus yrs applicable experience or an MS in Aerospace Engineering with 7 plus yrs applicable experience.
Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of Matlab, C/C++, and UAV's is preferred. Flight Test Experience at EAFB or similar Flight Test facility is also preferred.
Note: 1st shift (in general) but with some other shifts – some lite travel.
Current Secret US Security Clearance Required
