Nova Fish Farms Inc. is an independent, Canadian owned, and full-integrated Steelhead Trout Farming organization that is rapidly expanding and is looking to add Aquaculture Site Workers to our team.
Site work is a labour-intensive position requiring standing for long periods, with heavy lifting, repetitive tasks, bending, kneeling, etc. Applicants must be comfortable working outside in all weather conditions on multiple aquaculture sites.
Duties and Responsibilities but not limited to.
• Providing support to the farm site through general husbandry operations from smolt to harvest
• Operating vessels to travel to work sites (longliners and skiffs)
• Operating machinery such as cranes, compressors, forklifts, etc.
• Feed inventory and tracking during shifts, feeding regimes.
• Assist the utility crew in site setups.
• Daily site maintenance
• Attention to record keeping.
• Net washing
• Harvesting assistance
A successful candidate will:
• Be a team player.
• Be willing to work flexible work hours and schedules.
• Be willing to obtain a Marine Emergency Duties (MED) certificate and other training requirements that will be required.
• Experience within the aquaculture field would be considered an asset but not required as on the job training is provided.
