Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Computer Systems Engineer to join our dynamic team in providing comprehensive support services for CBP (Customs and Border Protection). This role involves a wide range of responsibilities including planning, building, testing, deployment, and stabilization of workstation changes, as well as software distribution, patch management, and service management. The successful candidate will also be involved in program and administrative management-related tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

System Development & Integration: Plan, build, test, and deploy workstation changes while ensuring high levels of data quality and process continuity.

Technology Evaluation & Implementation: Proactively integrate emerging workstation technologies, analyze requirements, and implement security architectures.

Certification & Accreditation: Conduct certification and accreditation of workstation technologies to ensure compliance with national standards.

Performance & Sustainment Engineering: Enhance performance engineering and sustainment practices, focusing on efficient operation and longevity of systems.

Disaster Recovery & Escalation Support: Develop and manage disaster recovery plans and provide high-level escalation support.

Compliance & Security: Ensure all workstation-related activities comply with CBP Technical Reference Models, DHS policies, and other federal mandates.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in systems engineering, preferably in a government or security-sensitive environment.

Strong understanding of software distribution, patch management, and service management.

Demonstrated experience in integrating new technologies and conducting system analyses.

Proficient in implementing security architectures and conducting system certifications.

Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with CBP, DHS, or other federal agencies.

Advanced certifications related to systems engineering, security, or network management.

Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across various departments.
