JOB SUMMARY

The Laundry Manager is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the Laundry. As the Laundry processes guest services and in-house services, the Laundry Manager is to provide supervision, direction, and leadership to the entire laundry staff also demonstrating performance objectives and quality standards set by One and Only.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• To know One and only operating standards and procedures.

• Thorough knowledge of Laundry Operations, equipment, chemicals, and fabric handling.

• Maintain the best possible standards when handling guest laundry / dry cleaning to ensure customer delight.

• To always provide staff with well-maintained uniforms.

• Maintain department organization, and sufficient staffing based on specific requirements according to operation and business forecast.

• Ensure staff that are hired are willing, dedicated, and show initiative to learn, practice, and demonstrate. One&Only Standards.

• Conduct quality training for all laundry staff constantly, ensuring that all staff is aware of how to correctly use the equipment, processes, and standards.

• Conduct performance reviews with staff regularly.

• Create a well-managed and highly motivated team and encourage teamwork.

• Ensure processes are easy to follow and user-friendly.

• Work according to company and Resort standards and ensure that spot checks are carried out regularly to ensure that standards are being adhered to in all areas, especially the quality of the finished product.

• Ensure that wash formulas are reviewed and correct for the specific wash programs and fabric types.

• Analyze monthly reports and propose areas for improvement over the coming months and for future budgeting.

• Conduct inventories regularly for all Resort linens and prepare reports for submission to the Executive Housekeeper and Finance Department. Spot checks are to be carried out during times of inventory to ensure that the figures are correct.

• Conduct regular inspections of area listing points and follow up on maintenance issues that are new and outstanding, putting into practice general cleaning programs and equipment maintenance.

• Ensure a high level of hygiene and safety within the Laundry.

• Ensure all chemicals are safely stored and correctly used.

• Maintain Laundry records accurately, and ensure they are always kept up to date.

• Responsible for the daily operations of the Uniform Room and the Tailors.

• Monitor all projects that are set and ensure that timelines are adhered to.

• Participate in any special ceremonies and public works when requested by the management.

• To perform all other jobs related to your scope of work, as requested by your superiors or other Managers.

SKILL EXPERIENCE & EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT

• Must Hold a master’s degree or Higher Certificate in Hospitality Management

• Must be skilled to understand & perform the job of a Laundry Manager

• Housekeeping Supervisor or a Laundry Manager for a period of a minimum of two years in a four-star and above resort.
