The Organization: Search for Common Ground (Search) is an international conflict transformation NGO that aims to transform the way individuals, groups, governments and companies deal with conflict, away from adversarial approaches and towards collaborative solutions.

Headquartered in Washington DC, USA, and Brussels, Belgium, with offices in over 30 countries, Search designs and implements multifaceted, culturally appropriate and conflict-sensitive programs using a diverse range of tools, including media and training, to promote dialogue, increase knowledge and determine a positive shift in behaviors.

The Team: The Program Implementation team has oversight for the implementation of Search’s programs and projects in its country offices, in accordance with Search and donor policies and procedures.

The Program Implementation team works on the full life-cycle of the project, from the start-up phase to the full close-out.

This involves designing work plans, implementing activities, reporting, financial management, and staffing management The Program Implementation team collaborates with other departments, including Finance, Institutional Learning, Programs, Global Affairs and Partnerships, Human Resources, and Information Technology The Role: Search for Common Ground (Search) seeks a Program Implementation Intern who will remotely support Search's Asia regional grants management team and country offices in Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Indonesia, Myanmar, and Sri Lanka.

The Intern will work on project reporting, developing program learning and communications materials,managing project databases, and supporting regional initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Assisting drafting of donor reports and editing reports from country offices for language and fluidity

Supporting the Asia region’s external communications, including compiling updates from country offices, updating website content, and creating visibility pieces

Assisting with development of learning and communications materials for country and regional programs, including drafting content based on program team inputs and reports and evaluations and providing style and copy editing support

Updating databases and tools for grants management

Researching contextual information to enhance programming, including developing a weekly context/news update for the regional team

Assisting in the creation of capacity building tools such as presentations and guidelines for Search’s internal procedures, program successes and lessons learned, and peacebuilding approaches

Supporting the Regional Program Implementation Team in planning travel and meeting logistics

Qualifications:

BA or MA (completed or in progress) in international relations, conflict resolution, international development, Asian studies, or a related field

Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills in English

Computer proficiency

Interest in peacebuilding and conflict transformation

Familiarity with the Asia region

Ability to maintain professionalism, creativity, and enthusiasm while working in a fast-paced, multicultural environment with minimal supervision

Self-starter, able to work independently, and willing to take on a variety of tasks

Ability to work with different time zones and remote supervision
